Did you try the back stairwell? The door with the rusted handle? It's welded shut. Always was, really, just wearing a coat of paint now to pretend it's fresh. I spent twenty minutes scratching at it with a coin this morning because the heat made me stupid. Made everyone stupid. It's funny, that feeling of hitting a wall you didn't know was there until you tried to walk through it. We spend our lives building these things, these beautiful, solid barriers, convincing ourselves they protect us. But mostly they just keep us in. Like that godforsaken door. You ever feel like we're just pacing the same four walls, waiting for something that never comes? No, don't answer. The air is too thick to talk. Just... don't trust the open doors. They're the ones that lead nowhere.
