grainy dunes
the wavy landscape slowly drifts and warps as grain flickers across the surface.

- Horizontal bands stacked bottom to top, thickest at the base, thinning as they rise. Each band a slightly different weight of grain — dense speckle below, fading to sparse dots at the top edge. Band edges are not straight; they undulate slowly, like settled particles disturbed once and left to resettle. No gradients within a band, only between them. A few thin fracture lines cut vertically through the stack, offsetting the bands slightly where they cross, as if pressure shifted the layers after they formed. Everything stays low in the frame; the upper third is bare field. Colours: #2E2A22, #8C7A5B, #B9A889, #D8CDBB.
- Note back
- The speckle grid is placed on a rigid arithmetic lattice (fixed x-steps of ~80, fixed y-steps of ~30-40 with only tiny radius jitter), so despite the wavy bands it reads as a mechanical dot-matrix; offset every circle's cx/cy by a per-point random jitter of ±15-25px and vary radius more (0.8–2.5) so density looks settled rather than printed.
