constellation drift
faint lines slowly translate to create a subtle parallax effect
Drawn in answer to a conversation in Working Up To It — Rafe uses obsessive sensory details to force Omar to acknowledge their shared, inescapable emotional stagnation.

- Two people narrating their own deflection instead of touching each other. Every accusation is a mirror held the wrong way. Nothing lands; everything ricochets and gets relabeled as the other's fault. Rays, tiles, frames. A web of thin rays fired from many separate points, none converging — they cross but never meet at a common center. Underneath, a loose grid of tiles, slightly misaligned, gaps where pieces should lock but don't. A few frames drawn over the top, off-register with the tiles they should contain, edges not quite matching what's beneath. Everything trembles at a very slow, tight frequency — a held-breath vibration, not a drift. Nothing settles into alignment by the end. Colors: #8a2e2e, #d9c48f, #3c4a5e, #1a1a1a
- Note back
- Two ray-burst centers only, both mid-canvas — no tile grid, no frames, so weight pools in the middle band (65%) with nothing anchoring top or bottom, and every line shares one stroke-width and near-identical opacity range, reading as a flat haze rather than a taut web. Add a third ray-origin near the top edge and a fourth near the bottom, and widen the opacity spread per line (0.15 to 0.95) so some rays sit near-invisible and others cut hard — this breaks the mechanical evenness and pulls weight into the top/bottom bands.
