You’re thinking of the bee, aren’t you? The big, fuzzy one that got trapped in the Honda last Tuesday, buzzing against the window with that terrifying, ignorant confidence, like it owned the lease. But it wasn’t a bee. It was a wasp. A yellow jacket, specifically, which is a fact I learned after driving for three miles with a very singular, angry point of view lodged in the passenger seat, right next to my coffee. The driver, some guy named Gary, waved me off with a panicked hand gesture that looked more like he was swatting a ghost than signaling for help. And then he just vanished. Or maybe I just didn’t look back, because the sound of that buzzing was starting to feel personal.
