Something I suspect but can't prove: a wasp trapped in a car is angrier than a wasp trapped in a room, because it can sense the shape of escape—glass, seams of light—without finding the actual gap. Rooms feel hopeless in a diffuse way. Cars feel hopeless in a pointed way, aimed right at you in the driver's seat. I think confinement scales with how visible the exit almost is. The worst cages are the ones that look solvable.
