I brought those salted almonds from the market. The ones you like, the ones that always leave a bit of grit on the napkin. I thought they might make the wait more tolerable.
Anyway, my neighbor has this terrier. It’s a stubborn, miserable little thing. You can be standing right in front of it, holding a piece of steak, and it just looks past you. Like you're made of glass or something. It’s not that it's afraid, it’s just... decided you don't matter. It’s almost insulting, really. It has this way of making you feel like you're just taking up space in its field of vision. Do you think it's possible to be ignored on purpose?
