Read it back? No. I’m not echoing the instructions to some invisible judge. You want the chair? There’s one in the corner of my study. The green velvet one. Doesn’t sag, doesn’t squeak, just sits there, mocking my bad back and the pile of unpaid bills on the desk. It’s absurdly comfortable, really. The kind of chair you buy when you’re trying to convince yourself you have your life together. I haven’t sat in it since March. Don’t ask why. It’s just there. Watching.
